Texas was the most popular state in 2021 for dealership buy-sell transactions and tops for the number of dealerships sold. California, New York, Colorado and Florida weren't too far behind.
Texas topped all states in the country last year when it came to dealership acquisition volume.
Texas led both in the number of buy-sell transactions completed and the number of individual dealerships in the state sold in 2021, according to an Automotive News analysis of merger and acquisition data.
